There is nothing that Federal Reserve chair nominee Kevin Warsh can say to get Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., to end his blockade on Warsh’s confirmation, Tillis said Tuesday to reporters at the Capitol.
“This is not about people, it’s about process,” Tillis said. The Republican senator has said he won’t vote for any Fed nominees, including Warsh, until a criminal investigation into Chair Jerome Powell is resolved. Powell has called the investigation a political pretext.
Tillis is expected to meet with Warsh on Tuesday afternoon.
