(WO) — Halliburton has been awarded a multi-year agreement by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to support development of the Ahmadi Innovation Valley (AIV), a research and development center designed to accelerate technology innovation across Kuwait’s upstream oil and gas sector.
The center will serve as a hub for developing and commercializing technologies for brownfield, greenfield and unconventional reservoirs, supporting KOC’s efforts to address increasingly complex operating conditions while expanding in-country research and technical capabilities.
Under the agreement, Halliburton will provide technologies and engineering expertise through a tailored program focused on applied research, prototyping, pilot testing and commercialization. The company said digital technologies, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, will play a central role in supporting decision-making and asset performance throughout the field lifecycle.
The project builds on Halliburton’s long-standing presence in Kuwait and reflects KOC’s broader strategy to establish innovation as a core component of the country’s upstream development.
“This award reflects the depth of the long-term collaboration with KOC and the shared focus on advancing technology development in Kuwait’s energy sector,” said Jeff Miller, Halliburton chairman, president and CEO. “We combine global expertise, digital capabilities and in-country presence to address Kuwait’s unique upstream challenges.”
According to Halliburton, the Ahmadi Innovation Valley initiative is intended to move beyond traditional oilfield services by creating a permanent platform for applied research and technology development, supporting future advances in drilling, production optimization and field development across Kuwait’s upstream portfolio.
