At least two people were killed and five others, including a 2-year-old child, were wounded on Sunday in a shooting at a downtownSeattlefood festival, local news outlets reported.
Police said multiple people were shot in the U.S. city’s downtown area on Sunday evening.
“Please avoid the area,”Seattlepolice said on social media site X, referring toSeattleCenter, where theBite ofSeattlefood festival was being held. “Police are investigating a shooting. Multiple shooting victims. Shots fired at theSeattleCenter.”
TheSeattleTimes and local TV station KOMO reported two people were killed and five were wounded, citing theSeattleFire Department.
Witnesses reported hearing several shots around 6 p.m. (0100 GMT), theSeattleTimes reported.
