(WO) — Emerson has expanded its DeltaV™ automation portfolio with a platform designed to support AI-scale data centers, leveraging industrial automation technologies widely used in the oil and gas sector to improve reliability, power management and operational efficiency.
The DeltaV Automation Platform for Data Centers integrates monitoring and control of electrical, mechanical and thermal systems into a single automation architecture, enabling operators to better manage rapidly changing power and cooling demands while accelerating project execution.
The platform builds on Emerson’s DeltaV distributed control system (DCS) and programmable logic controller (PLC) technologies, incorporating AI-enabled capabilities to provide real-time operational insights, optimize engineering workflows and support future autonomous operations.
According to Emerson, the integrated platform is designed to replace multiple standalone control systems with a unified automation layer that simplifies commissioning, operations and lifecycle management for large-scale facilities.
“Data center performance is no longer defined by individual components alone, but by how effectively critical systems work together,” said Nathan Pettus, president of Emerson’s process systems and solutions business. “The DeltaV Automation Platform for Data Centers gives operators the unified visibility and coordinated control they need to commission projects predictably, operate reliably at scale and meet aggressive timelines.”
Emerson said the platform reflects growing demand for industrial-grade automation as expanding AI infrastructure drives the need for highly reliable power and cooling systems. The company noted that the same automation technologies supporting process industries such as oil and gas are increasingly being applied to large-scale digital infrastructure.
