Marquee names such as Meta Platforms, Berkshire Hathaway, Visa, Mastercard, Fidelity National Information Services and Palantir Technologies are among stocks bought or sold by United States President Donald Trump, his latest disclosures in August showed, as per a CNBC report.
The president rotated in and out of stocks, bonds and exchange-traded funds throughout the month. The transactions totaled between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, according to Trump’s latest filing on Aug. 22, which shows a range for each sale or purchase rather than an exact figure. His securities purchases topped $49 million, while his sales totaled at least $28.5 million.
Trump disclosed 1,051 financial transactions for June (including bonds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and stocks) which reshaped his portfolio between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, according to the report, citing his filing from 22 August. It added that the documents showed a range for each transaction and not the exact figure — showing $49 million worth of securities purchases and $28.5 million worth of sales.
The White House did not immediately respond to queries, the report added. However, in May spokesman Davis Ingle told CNBC that there are “no conflicts of interest” and the president’s assets are held in a trust managed by his children.
- During the month, he sold shares in the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF, the Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF and the Vanguard Short-Term Bond Index Fund ETF.
- Overall, the ETF transactions were worth between $1-5 million.
A Bloomberg report also added that the White House says there are no conflicts of interest because Trump’s investments are independently managed. His son Eric is the executive vice president of the Trump Organization and has said the assets were in a blind trust.
