Ongoing uncertainty surrounding US trade policies, particularly after the announcement of tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, has created a cautious atmosphere among investors. Stock markets of China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea are close for holiday today.
Straits Times added by 4.01 points or 0.10% to 3,849.15, and Jakarta Composite up by 35.82 points or 0.53% to 6,851.55.
On the flip side, Taiwan Weighted down by 172.86 points or 0.83% to 20,614.78, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI narrowed by 7.05 points or 0.46% to 1,535.44.
