Jim Cramer wants to buy more FedEx Freight once this 1 thing happens
Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer holds a “Morning Meeting” livestream at 10:20 a.m. ET. Here’s a recap of Tuesday’s key moments. 1. Stocks were under pressure Tuesday as oil prices moved higher after the U.S. and Iran exchanged attacks over the weekend. Bond yields followed crude higher, stoking inflation concerns and putting market odds on a Federal Reserve interest rate hike at next week’s meeting at over 58%. OpenAI’s launch of its new GPT-6 Astra model is “one of the things roiling the market,” according to Jim Cramer. Software stocks fell on the Astra news due to renewed AI disruption fears. That sent Salesforce , which has been on the mend, down 3.5% and put the Club stock back in “software purgatory,” Jim said. 2. FedEx Freight on Tuesday was initiated at JPMorgan with a buy-equivalent overweight rating and price target of $160 — more than 20% above Friday’s close. “We see a clear path for the largest less-than-truckload carrier in North America to improve profitability and service as a stand-alone company,” analysts wrote in a note to clients. Jim said the Club stock’s recent slide has less to do with management’s decisions and more to do with concerns about tariffs and high oil prices. Jim said, “I very much want to buy” more FedEx Freight, but he added the stock has to get clear of oil first. 3. Eaton was upgraded at UBS to buy from neutral in a Monday note. The analysts also increased their price target on the Club stock to $515 from $450, implying over 25% upside from Friday’s close. Shares of the power management company advanced 3.5% on Tuesday. UBS expects continued strength from data center and aerospace end-markets to drive strong topline performance. Jim agreed Eaton “is really good because it’s not all data center.” He added, “The electric grid is going to need fixing regardless of what happens with the data center.” 4. Stocks covered in Tuesday’s rapid-fire at the end of the video were: GE Aerospace , Lockheed Martin , Novartis , Bloom Energy , and Qualcomm . (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long CRM, FDXF, ETN.
