(WO) — Petrobras has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mozambique’s national oil company, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), establishing a framework for cooperation across the oil and gas sector.
Under the agreement, the companies will explore opportunities to work jointly on studies, evaluation, development and commercialization activities. The MoU also provides for knowledge sharing and the exchange of technical expertise.
Petrobras Exploration and Production Director Sylvia Anjos and Exploration Executive Manager Jonilton Pessoa signed the agreement on behalf of the Brazilian company. ENH was represented by Board Chairman Rudêncio Morais and Director Alegria Cossa.
ENH serves as the commercial arm of the Mozambican government for oil and gas exploration, production, processing, marketing and distribution, with activities spanning the hydrocarbon value chain.
The agreement will remain in effect for two years and can be extended by mutual agreement.
Petrobras and ENH did not identify specific exploration blocks, development projects or investment commitments under the MoU.
