(WO) — Yangarra Resources Ltd. has drilled 17 Belly River wells at its Chambers development in Alberta over the past two years, as the company continues to expand its drilling inventory and improve well performance.
Yangarra has invested $58 million in drilling, completions and related land acquisitions for the Chambers Belly River program. By the end of third-quarter 2026, the company expects the development to have generated $45 million in cash flow.
Current Belly River production stands at approximately 1,450 boed, with liquids accounting for 72% of output. Yangarra has identified 106 future Belly River drilling locations at Chambers and is evaluating an additional area that could further expand its inventory.
The company also reported improved results from changes to its well design. A new design incorporating a larger bottomhole pump delivered 2.5 times the productivity of the previous design on an IP90 basis in a direct offset comparison. Yangarra said it is pursuing additional measures aimed at improving well runtimes and production.
During the third quarter, Yangarra completed farm-in commitments covering several Cardium wells in South Chambers. The wells earn both Cardium and Belly River rights and are expected to be completed during the fourth quarter as natural gas prices strengthen into the winter season.
The remainder of Yangarra’s drilling program will prioritize Belly River development and further delineation in West Chambers.
Yangarra said its in-house oilfield services operations are also helping control costs and provide access to equipment and personnel as industry activity increases. The company expects the integrated model to help limit the impact of service-cost inflation as it advances its development program.
