(WO) — Patterson-UTI Energy reported an average of 103 operating drilling rigs in the United States during September 2026, compared with an average of 101 rigs for the third quarter.
The company defines operating rigs as those earning revenue under drilling contracts in the U.S. The monthly figures provide an indication of Patterson-UTI’s contracted drilling activity but do not necessarily reflect trends in its financial performance.
Patterson-UTI said it will continue providing monthly updates on its U.S. drilling rig activity shortly after the end of each month.
