(WO) – A pilot well drilled at the Symra field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf has found an estimated 8 MMboe to 15 MMboe of recoverable volumes, DNO said in its third-quarter trading update. The find increases Symra’s estimated recoverable volumes by up to 25%.
The pilot well was drilled as part of production drilling at Symra, to appraise earlier discoveries in the Heimdal Formation. DNO holds a 20% interest in the field.
During the quarter, DNO also took part in the Afrodite appraisal well in PL293, where it holds a 10% interest. The well was spudded July 15 and was still drilling at the end of the quarter.
On Sept. 30, DNO completed an asset swap with Vår Energi that gave it a 5% interest in the Gjøa field and Gjøa Nord discovery, in exchange for its interests in Nova and Ringhorne Nord. DNO’s North Sea net production averaged 85,364 boed in the third quarter, and total net production was about 142,800 boed. The company will release full Q3 results on Oct. 29.
