Stocks making the biggest moves after hours: Whirlpool, JetBlue, Celestica & more
Here are some of the companies making headlines in extended trading. Whirlpool — The home appliance maker dropped almost 9% after slashing its full-year revenue guidance to $14.5 billion from $15 billion. Revenue in the third quarter also fell short of estimates, coming in at $3.68 billion versus the $3.92 billion LSEG consensus estimate. The company also lost an adjusted 21 cents per share, while analysts expected a profit of 80 cents per share. JetBlue Airways – The air carrier surged 7% after the company said that it expects further margin expansion in the fourth quarter even as fuel prices are anticipated to be 85% higher than a year earlier. JetBlue reported an adjusted loss of 60 cents a share in the third quarter, compared to the 55-cent loss analysts polled by LSEG had sought. Revenue narrowly missed expectations, as well. Amkor Technology – The provider of semiconductor test services added 5% after third-quarter revenue came in at $1.99 billion. That’s higher than Amkor’s earlier call for $1.90 billion, but just below the FactSet consensus call for $2.04 billion. Celestica – Shares of the supply chain management company jumped 10% after Celestica hiked its full-year guidance. The company sees adjusted earnings of $11.55 per share, up from its earlier call for $11.30 per share and beating the FactSet consensus forecast for $11.16. Rambus — The semiconductor name fell 2% despite reporting sharp year-over-year earnings and revenue growth for the third quarter. Rambus earned 84 cents per share, excluding certain items, on revenue of $218.3 million. That represents growth of 35% on the bottom line and 22% for the top line, respectively, year on year. Public Storage — Shares were little changed even after the storage company reported better-than-expected results for the third quarter. Public Storage also raised its full-year funds from operations forecast. Cadence Design Systems — The electronic systems design company advanced 2% after third-quarter results surpassed estimates. Cadence Design earned $2.11 per share on an adjusted basis and posted revenue of $1.63 billion. Analysts polled by LSEG sought $2.05 per share and $1.61 billion. The company also lifted its full-year revenue growth outlook.
