(WO) – Percepto has launched Axion, an AI inspection platform that works with drones and sensors from other manufacturers as well as Percepto’s own. The company said Axion helps operators of power grids, oil and gas facilities and industrial sites spot equipment problems before they escalate.
Axion is sold as a software-as-a-service product. It takes in data from supported third-party drone platforms, fixed and mobile sensors, and existing inspection archives, so operators aren’t tied to a single hardware provider. It sorts inspection data by asset and uses AI to assess equipment condition in context, for example comparing a thermal anomaly against expected asset behavior and environmental conditions. According to Percepto, the platform uses more than 160 AI models trained on more than 100,000 hours of autonomous inspection data. Users can also ask questions about their assets in plain language.
Operators can start with the inspection data they already have and add Percepto’s Ranger drones, Harbor autonomous stations and managed remote operations where they need more frequent coverage.
“From day one, a team can bring the inspection data it already has and see which assets need attention first,” said CEO Julien Bellanger.
