(WO) – Argent LNG has submitted a series of resource reports to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), advancing federal permitting for its proposed 25-MMtpa LNG export facility at Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
The filings mark a key step in the environmental review process required for large-scale LNG developments and move the project closer to potential authorization and a future final investment decision.
The Port Fourchon facility is designed as a major Gulf Coast export hub, targeting long-term liquefied natural gas demand from Europe and Asia. At full capacity, the project would rank among the largest LNG export facilities in the United States.
Argent LNG said the submitted reports cover multiple aspects of project development, including general design, environmental considerations and alternatives analysis, as part of the staged FERC review process.
“This is a project of national significance,” said CEO Jonathan Bass, adding that the filings move the company further along its regulatory pathway.
The company plans to submit additional resource reports in the coming months as it progresses through permitting, with the project positioned to join a growing pipeline of U.S. LNG export capacity under development.
