(WO) — Xodus Group has been selected to support environmental approvals for the next phases of Australia’s Northern Endeavour Decommissioning Program, one of the country’s largest offshore oilfield decommissioning projects.

The work covers Phases 2 and 3 of the program, which is being delivered by Australia’s Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) and involves the staged decommissioning of the Laminaria-Corallina oil fields, approximately 550 km northwest of Darwin.
Phase 2 includes the permanent plugging and abandonment of the Laminaria-Corallina subsea wells, while Phase 3 will focus on removing the remaining subsea infrastructure.
Xodus will provide environmental impact assessments, regulatory approvals support, oil spill modeling, GIS services, regulatory engagement and implementation planning. The company will work alongside Elemental Consulting Services, building on experience gained during Phase 1 of the program.
The first phase, now operationally complete, included suspension of wells, flushing of subsea infrastructure, and the disconnection and tow of the Northern Endeavour FPSO. Xodus supported that work through technical assurance and project advisory services.
