(WO) — CoreMarine has completed the disconnection of Golar LNG’s Hilli Episeyo FLNG after eight years of operations offshore Cameroon, clearing the floating LNG vessel for its planned redeployment to Argentina.
CoreMarine provided project management, engineering, procurement and offshore operational services for the campaign, developing a disconnection methodology tailored to the facility. The company said the approach was designed to simplify offshore operations and reduce execution time and costs.
The campaign was completed on schedule and included work from initial concept development through offshore execution.
“The technical complexity and fast-track nature of this project highlight CoreMarine’s engineering expertise and our ability to deliver demanding offshore solutions within tight timeframes,” said Gerardo Rodriguez, lead project manager at CoreMarine.
Following its departure from Cameroon, Hilli Episeyo is expected to undergo upgrade work in Singapore before being deployed offshore Argentina as part of the country’s developing LNG export infrastructure.
The FLNG has LNG production capacity of 2.45 MMtpa and is expected to arrive at Golfo San Matías by mid-2027.
CoreMarine will remain involved in the vessel’s transition to Argentina. The company recently secured a scope covering transportation and installation of soft-yoke mooring systems and the hook-up of both Hilli Episeyo and the planned MKII FLNG vessel.
The redeployment will extend Hilli Episeyo’s operational life while supporting Argentina’s efforts to develop LNG export capacity based on its natural gas resources.
