(WO) — Royale Energy is advancing development of its Permian basin acreage in Ector County, Texas, with nine wells currently producing and a tenth undergoing completion.
The company holds a 7.5% working interest in approximately 16,600 gross acres in the Permian. Its ninth well, drilled and completed during first-half 2026, began production in May at an initial rate of 1,031 bopd and 1.915 MMcfd of natural gas. Royale’s share, including its direct working-interest investors, was 77 bopd and 144 Mcfd.
Royale said all nine producing wells are currently performing at or above its three-mile lateral type curve, which estimates ultimate recovery of approximately 113 boe per lateral foot with an 80% oil weighting.
The tenth well is currently being hydraulically fractured and completed, with flowback expected to begin within approximately 30 days. The company is also evaluating the Woodford interval in the well as it assesses additional development opportunities across its acreage.
Royale estimates it has 30 to 39 additional undeveloped Barnett locations across approximately 12,940 gross undeveloped acres, depending on whether two- or three-mile laterals are used. The company has identified more than 40 additional potential locations targeting the Woodford.
Drilling activity is expected to continue through 2026, with additional wells planned for 2027.
Separately, Royale plans to drill a horizontal Odom well in the Jameson North field on the eastern flank of the Permian basin during first-half 2027. The company holds a 100% working interest in approximately 7,465 net acres there and has identified more than five additional Odom horizontal prospects using 3D seismic data.
