(WO) — SLB has secured a 15-year agreement with TotalEnergies to deploy its DrillPlan digital well planning and engineering technology across the operator’s global upstream portfolio.
The agreement will support TotalEnergies’ transition to a standardized digital drilling planning environment, connecting subsurface data with well engineering and drilling workflows to improve collaboration and consistency across operations.
SLB’s DrillPlan solutions integrate offset well data, well trajectory designs, casing and completion inputs, and engineering assumptions used throughout the well construction process. The platform is designed to allow subsurface, drilling and engineering teams to work from a common set of data and planning parameters.
“Operators are increasingly looking for scalable technologies that can support more consistent planning decisions across large and diverse portfolios,” said Rakesh Jaggi, president of SLB’s Digital business. “This agreement demonstrates how customers are moving toward digital solutions that improve consistency, strengthen collaboration and provide a foundation for future workflow innovation.”
The deployment will combine TotalEnergies’ existing digital workflows and internally developed processes with SLB’s well construction and digital technology capabilities. The system is designed to accommodate customized engineering processes while supporting integration with other digital platforms.
The agreement expands the companies’ existing technology collaboration and is intended to support the continued introduction of digital tools across TotalEnergies’ well planning and engineering activities.
SLB did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement or a timeline for completing the global deployment.
