(WO) — Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has completed the first phase of development at the Hadiba gas and condensate field in the United Arab Emirates, advancing plans to more than double current gas production and support Sharjah’s long-term energy supply.
Discovered in May 2024 northeast of the Sajaa gas field, Hadiba reached first gas in less than a year through an accelerated appraisal and development program. The initial phase included appraisal well drilling, well data analysis, installation of gas-gathering infrastructure, pipeline construction and facility commissioning.
SNOC is preparing for the next phase of development, with efforts focused on increasing production in 2027. The field is expected to reach stable production levels by 2028 as Sharjah works to meet future natural gas demand.
Khamis Al Mazrouei, CEO of SNOC, said the project demonstrates the company’s ability to progress from discovery to production on an accelerated schedule while supporting the emirate’s energy needs. He added that Hadiba will play a growing role in strengthening energy security and delivering long-term value to Sharjah.
The company said it completed the first phase despite regional shipping disruptions and material supply constraints. Masoud Al Hamadi, SNOC’s executive director of upstream, cited positive appraisal results, including reservoir quality, favorable pressure characteristics and promising production performance, as indicators of the field’s long-term commercial potential.
The Hadiba development forms part of SNOC’s broader efforts to expand gas production and strengthen domestic energy supply in Sharjah.
