We are looking at steep premarket declines Monday morning across the data center buildout complex. It comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for a slowdown in the development of AI capabilities, and rivals Sam Altman of OpenAI and Elon Musk of xAI said they agreed with him. Altman, in a Fortune magazine interview , also ruled out an OpenAI initial public offering in 2026, citing AI safety concerns. While Amodei’s manifesto was self-serving , these weekend headlines are nevertheless reverberating in Monday’s market. Stocks like CoreWeave and Nebius are off more than 8%. Vertiv is also down over 8%, and Club name Eaton is down roughly 6%. Given that this day is a day where there are many people who believe that the data center story is now over, we have to wait until we see the whites of their eyes before we take a stand. Our buys will be concentrated in the ready-to-roll stocks after people understand that the data center story is not over. We made plenty of sales in anticipation of this moment. I like Intel and Micron as bounce-back candidates. Intel is down more than 6% premarket; Micron is down about 6%. We will start with those two, but we may not see a bottom yet on Monday.
