If you need money quickly, a personal loan may be an option, but getting the funds the same day isn’t guaranteed. Some lenders offer same-day or next-day funding to qualified borrowers, and how quickly you get your money depends on your credit, application timing, required documentation and even your bank.
The good news? There are steps you can take to make the process go as smoothly and quickly as possible. Here’s how to get a same-day personal loan.
How to get a same-day personal loan
Gather the right information
When you apply for a personal loan, you’ll typically need to provide information such as your name, address, Social Security number and income. You may also need to provide documents that verify your identity, income or other financial information. Requirements vary by lender, so check what you’ll need before you go to apply. This goes for your co-signer, too, if you’re using one. Make sure they have their information and any required documents ready.
Providing complete and accurate information the first time can help avoid delays if the lender needs to verify your application.
Keep in mind that even after a lender sends the funds, your bank may need additional time to process the deposit before the money is available in your account. Applying on or right before a weekend or a holiday can delay your same-day or next-day funding, too.
Consider lenders that offer quick funding
Many online lenders offer same-day funding or, at the very least, funding within one to three business days. Traditional banks and credit unions may take longer, particularly if they require an in-person application or send loan proceeds by check. However, some banks and credit unions also offer same-day or next-day funding.
SoFi offers same-day personal loans if your loan is approved and the loan agreement is signed by 5:30 p.m. ET on a business day. Funding amounts go up to $100,000 and there are no origination fees, no prepayment penalty fees and no late fees.

Apply early and accept your loan as soon as possible
If you want to maximize your chances of getting same-day funding, submit your application on a business day as early as possible. Some lenders have cutoff times for same-day funding, meaning you may need to accept your loan offer and sign the loan agreement by a certain time to have your funds sent that day. Always be sure to check your desired lender’s cutoff times as they vary by lender, and receiving your funds the same day isn’t guaranteed.
