(WO) — Clariant has appointed Gapuma Group as the distributor of its Well Service Additives (WSA) portfolio across Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, expanding the availability of its specialty oilfield chemicals in key West African upstream markets.
Under the agreement, Gapuma will distribute Clariant’s Well Service Additives portfolio through its regional network, including the HOSTADRILL™, HOSTAMER™ and HOSTASTIM™ product families used in drilling, cementing, stimulation and deliquification applications.
Clariant said the partnership strengthens its route-to-market strategy in West Africa by combining Gapuma’s established regional presence with growing demand for upstream well service solutions.
“Gapuma Group’s strong customer relationships and regional expertise provide an important opportunity to further extend access to Clariant’s Well Service Additives portfolio across West Africa,” said George Nunes, head of Clariant Oil Services. “This partnership advances our route-to-market strategy in a region where we see growing demand for upstream well service solutions.”
Gapuma Group, an international trading company specializing in commodities and specialty chemicals, will distribute the products through its affiliated companies operating across the three countries. The company maintains a presence in West Africa, Europe and the Middle East and was ranked No. 36 in the 2026 ICIS Top 100 Chemical Distributors.
Clariant’s Well Service Additives portfolio is designed to support upstream drilling and well intervention operations by improving fluid performance, cementing efficiency, stimulation treatments and production optimization.
