Dhoot Transmission IPO listing prediction
Mahesh M. Ojha, Vice President – Research & Business Development at Kantilal Chhaganlal Securities Pvt Ltd, said Dhoot Transmission is a clear leader in India’s two-wheeler and three-wheeler wiring harness segment, with a combined market share of 41.03% in FY26 and nearly 70% in the electric 2W/3W segment.
At the upper price band, the IPO is valued at 44.9x FY26 post-issue P/E, which Ojha said appears fairly valued given the company’s strong market position, exposure to the EV segment and long-term growth prospects.
He expects margin expansion over the medium to long term to be supported by a richer product mix, particularly electronic components and battery packs, along with capacity expansion and orders from leading EV manufacturers. However, near-term margins could remain under pressure due to acquisition-related costs, plant start-up expenses and a lag in passing higher commodity costs to customers.
Ojha expects these pressures to ease as new capacities ramp up and operations stabilise. He believes rising content per vehicle and a growing contribution from EV-focused electrical, electronic and battery products could drive stronger growth and margin expansion.
On the investment outlook, Ojha expects 25–30% listing gains. Short-term investors may consider booking partial profits after a strong listing, while medium- to long-term investors can hold the stock. Fresh investors, he advised, should wait for price stabilisation and more attractive valuation levels before accumulating.
