(WO) – Neutron Inc. has introduced the Moxa EDR-8010 Industrial Secure Router Series, a compact DIN-rail device that integrates firewall, VPN, NAT, Layer 3 routing and managed Layer 2 switching for industrial networks.
The EDR-8010 is designed for increasingly connected industrial environments where PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors and remote platforms require secure communication for real-time monitoring, diagnostics and maintenance. Combining networking and security functions in a single platform can reduce the number of devices required while simplifying installation and network management.
The integrated firewall provides policy-based traffic control between network segments to help isolate critical assets and restrict unauthorized access. VPN capabilities provide encrypted remote access for maintenance and diagnostics, while NAT and Layer 3 routing support communication between control networks, enterprise systems and remote sites.
The router also supports port forwarding for controlled access to specific services on legacy devices without exposing the broader control network. Network segmentation capabilities allow operators to divide systems into separate zones, such as production lines, utilities and machine cells, while maintaining required connectivity.
Designed for industrial environments, the EDR-8010 operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 75°C and features redundant power inputs and DIN-rail mounting. The unit also provides centralized logging and security management for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
