(WO) – NG Energy International has brought its Aruchara-6 well online at the Maria Conchita block in Colombia. During initial flow through the field’s central processing facility (CPF), the well produced up to 8.7 MMcfd gross (6.96 MMcfd net), on a 30/64 choke at an average tubing head pressure of 780 psi. According to the company, the well was drilled to a total depth of 9,352 ft, hit its H1 target and showed gas in the H2 through H6 zones.
“Aruchara-6 has delivered positive gas results and is now tied into our main processing facility and producing, having flowed at up to 8.7 MMcf/d during well testing,” said CEO Jorge Fonseca.
With the new well, Maria Conchita’s output is expected to rise to 23.0 MMcfd gross (18.4 MMcfd net), from 16.0 MMcfd gross (12.8 MMcfd net). That would bring NG Energy’s combined net production across Maria Conchita and Sinú-9 to about 29.1 MMcfd. Net figures reflect the company’s 80% working interest under private agreements. Gas above the 15.0-MMcfd contracted offtake is sold on Colombia’s spot market at about $14–$16/Mcf, with some volumes fetching more than $20/Mcf.
Production is approaching the CPF’s 30-MMcfd capacity, so infrastructure partner GTX International is upgrading the plant by the end of October. The work adds a compressor and improves the heat exchangers, cooling and dehydration facilities.
At the Sinú-9 block, operator Maurel & Prom Colombia spudded the Encantado-1X well on Oct. 6. The well is expected to help define the southern limits of the reservoir, provide depth calibration across the block and test an area expected to have higher pressure. It should also confirm gas in the Pre-CDO formation and check for liquids potential. The partners plan at least one more Sinú-9 well this year. A new pipeline loop from the Jobo connection point, built by INFRAES, has also been commissioned. It raises Sinú-9’s gross transportation capacity from 30 MMcfd to 40–45 MMcfd, or 15.6–17.6 MMcfd net to NG Energy.
