(WO) — PETRONAS, through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), has signed an agreement with Iraya Energies to integrate agentic AI capabilities into its myPROdata platform, aiming to accelerate evaluation of Malaysia’s upstream opportunities and investment decisions.
PETRONAS myPROdata provides access to subsurface and surface data covering exploration blocks, discovered resources and producing fields across Malaysia.
The enhanced platform will integrate geological, geophysical, engineering and other upstream data with agentic AI capabilities designed to analyze and connect multiple data sources. PETRONAS said the system will support evaluations ranging from identifying prospective areas and assessing resources to evaluating development opportunities and commercial viability.
“The enhanced PETRONAS myPROdata with Agentic AI capabilities will help investors navigate and assess Malaysia’s upstream opportunities with greater speed and confidence,” said Datuk Ir. (Dr) Bacho Pilong, senior vice president of MPM.
PETRONAS aims to attract approximately RM50 billion to RM60 billion in annual upstream investment while reducing the time from discovery to first hydrocarbons from 100 months to 50 months, Bacho said.
Under the agreement, Iraya Energies will serve as consortium lead integrator, establishing the technical, commercial and security framework for the AI capabilities and broader rollout of the program.
