(WO) — Phoenix Energy has surpassed 50,000 bopd of production in the Williston basin, marking a major milestone for the independent exploration and production company as it continues expanding its Bakken operations across North Dakota and Montana.
The company said daily oil production exceeded the 50,000-bopd threshold in mid-July, reaching approximately 50,700 bopd on July 19. The milestone follows rapid production growth from roughly 100 bopd at the beginning of 2024, including approximately 60% year-over-year growth between June 2025 and June 2026.
Founded in 2019, Phoenix Energy operates primarily in the Williston basin, where it has grown through a combination of operated drilling, royalty acquisitions and non-operated working interests. The company said the diversified strategy has enabled it to increase production while broadening its exposure across the upstream value chain.
“Reaching 50,000 barrels of oil per day is an important milestone for Phoenix Energy,” said Adam Ferrari, chief executive officer. “In just over two years, we’ve grown from a modest production base into one of the fastest-growing producers in the Williston basin. But 50,000 barrels per day is not a finish line. Instead, it is a foundation for continued responsible development and operational excellence in our quest to deliver long-term value.”
Chief Operating Officer David Scadden said the company’s operational execution has supported the rapid increase in production while maintaining field performance.
“Scaling production to this level while maintaining operational integrity requires precision throughout the organization,” Scadden said. “I couldn’t be prouder of our field and technical teams, whose execution has made this growth possible.”
Phoenix said it plans to continue building on the milestone as it expands development across its Williston basin asset base. The company publishes updated production data through its investor reporting platform.
