(WO) — SAR Gruppen and TWMA have entered into an agreement to expand drilling waste treatment capacity for operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), including the installation of TWMA’s RotoMill technology at SAR Gruppen’s Risavika facility in Tananger.
The RotoMill unit is expected to increase drilling waste processing capacity at the facility by up to 50%. The system will be integrated with SAR Gruppen’s existing treatment infrastructure and is scheduled to become operational later this month.
The companies will also combine their capabilities to provide an integrated drill cuttings handling service from offshore rigs through final treatment. Drill cuttings transported from offshore operations will be transferred directly into the treatment process at Risavika, eliminating intermediate lifting and handling stages.
The approach is intended to reduce vessel turnaround times while simplifying the movement and processing of drilling waste from offshore operations.

The additional capacity comes amid sustained upstream activity on the NCS. The Norwegian Offshore Directorate expects approximately 40 exploration wells to be drilled in 2026, while oil and gas investment is projected to reach NOK 266 billion during the year, according to Statistics Norway.
