(WO) — The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) has named David Lindley director of its Oil and Gas Division, which oversees oil and natural gas exploration and production activities across the state.
Lindley most recently served as assistant director of field operations within the division, where he gained experience overseeing the commission’s regulatory programs and field operations.
He brings nearly three decades of experience in oil and gas production, operations and engineering, including work across major U.S. producing regions. Lindley holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering.
As director, Lindley will oversee a division responsible for oil and gas permitting and reporting requirements, field inspections and testing programs, as well as monitoring industry operations for compliance with RRC regulations.
The division operates 10 district offices across Texas and also administers programs to plug abandoned wells and remediate oil and gas sites using fees and taxes paid by the industry.
