(WO) — The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) has named Worth Farabee its new Government Relations Director, overseeing the agency’s engagement with state leadership and the Texas Legislature on policy and constituent matters.
Farabee will work with RRC commissioners and agency leadership, legislators, industry representatives and other stakeholders on legislative and policy issues affecting the commission’s oversight of Texas natural resources and the industries under its jurisdiction.
The RRC’s Government Relations Division monitors legislation and policy developments that could affect the agency and serves as a liaison between the commission and state government, particularly during legislative sessions.
“Worth brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the legislative process that will greatly benefit the Commission,” RRC Executive Director Wei Wang said. “We are excited to welcome him to the RRC and look forward to the leadership and expertise he will bring as we continue to strengthen our team.”
Farabee brings nearly two decades of experience in legislative affairs, appropriations and government relations. Most recently, he served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for State Governmental Relations for the Texas Tech University System, representing the system before state leaders and the Texas Legislature.
Farabee began his Texas state government career in 2011 and has worked through eight legislative sessions at the state Capitol. His previous experience includes serving on the staffs of several former Texas House members.
