(WO) — CRC Evans has opened a new 90,000-sq-ft specialty welding and protective coating facility in Burnley, doubling the size of its local operations and expanding capacity to support pipeline and offshore energy projects globally.
The new Pioneer House Centre of Excellence combines manufacturing, engineering, specialty welding, protective coating and digital capabilities at a single location. From Burnley, CRC Evans will support projects across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australasia and Latin America, alongside its North American operations in Houston.
The expansion builds on CRC Evans’ established pipeline infrastructure business and increases its capacity to provide welding and protective coating technologies for energy and other critical infrastructure projects.

It is an investment in the future of CRC Evans and in our ability to support customers wherever they operate in the world,” CEO Mauro Piasere said. “Pioneer House gives us the scale, technology and specialty capability to accelerate that ambition.”
For offshore applications, the facility expands CRC Evans’ capabilities in injection-molded polypropylene (IMPP), a specialized coating technology used to protect and thermally insulate pipeline field joints in high-temperature and deepwater environments.
The facility also provides multi-layer epoxy and polyurethane systems, high-temperature finishes, thermal metal spray, advanced polymer coatings and intumescent fire protection.
CRC Evans said the expansion will support growth in its core energy pipeline markets while providing additional capacity for renewable energy and other industrial sectors.
