(WO) — Perenco UK has completed decommissioning of the Leman South and Durango subsea assets in the Southern North Sea, plugging and abandoning the wells and removing associated subsea infrastructure.
The campaign covered the Leman South well 53/02a-15Y and Durango well 48/21a-4z. Perenco worked with Petrodec, a decommissioning specialist within the Dixstone Group, to carry out the operations using Petrodec’s HAEVA jack-up vessel.
The work was completed safely and within the agreed timeframe, according to Perenco.
The campaign builds on similar subsea abandonment projects at Gawain, Arthur and Davy, which were also completed using the HAEVA. Perenco said the approach combines multiple complex well abandonment and infrastructure recovery operations within a single campaign, rather than relying exclusively on drilling rigs and separate offshore projects.
Jo White, Perenco UK’s Southern North Sea managing director, said the Leman South and Durango operations demonstrated the company’s ability to deliver technically complex subsea well abandonments and infrastructure recovery through a coordinated campaign approach.
