What to watch in Broadcoms upcoming earnings – and why Nvidia is running
Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer holds a “Morning Meeting” livestream at 10:20 a.m. ET. Here’s a recap of Wednesday’s key moments. 1. The S & P 500 rose Wednesday as the market looked to break its three-day losing streak. Stocks have been pressured by rising oil prices and bond yields, following renewed U.S. military strikes against Iran. Jim Cramer said investors shouldn’t grow overly comfortable with Wednesday’s rebound, suggesting President Donald Trump could post on social media about the Middle East conflict in such a way that quickly changes market sentiment again. “That’s very much in flux,” he said. “We are adding names and doing some buying here with the cash we have.” We’re planning to start new positions in Kimberly-Clark and BNY , formerly known as Bank of New York Mellon. 2. Nvidia shares jumped 4% after partner Dell posted a fantastic quarter. The server maker delivered a top and bottom line beat and raised fiscal 2027 earnings guidance by more than 40%. The numbers and conference call made it clear that it’s still full steam ahead for the AI buildout. Most of Dell’s AI server business is based on racks with Nvidia chips, which is why what’s good for Dell is good for Nvidia. Jim was pleasantly surprised by Nvidia getting a lift. “People are saying, ‘You know what, buy Nvidia because Dell’s doing well. … I think they should be buying Dell. But I’ll take the gain,” he added. 3. Broadcom will report earnings after the bell. Portfolio director Jeff Marks said we want to see a guidance raise, especially after the stock sold off last quarter when management simply reiterated their revenue outlook for fiscal 2026 AI semiconductor revenue. It will also be important to see what they have to say about Broadcom’s relationship with Alphabet , the company’s flagship custom chip customer. That’s been under question since the Google parent struck a custom silicon deal with Marvell last month. It’s always been a concern that Alphabet would diversify its chip suppliers, but Broadcom CEO Hock Tan did reassure investors in June that their long-term agreement remains “very, very strong.” 4. Stocks covered in Wednesday’s rapid fire at the end of the video were: Uber and Brown-Forman . (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long GOOGL, NVDA, KMB, BNY, AVGO . See here for a full list of the stocks.) As a subscriber to the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer, you will receive a trade alert before Jim makes a trade. Jim waits 45 minutes after sending a trade alert before buying or selling a stock in his charitable trust’s portfolio. If Jim has talked about a stock on CNBC TV, he waits 72 hours after issuing the trade alert before executing the trade.
